You and the Atomic Bomb by George Orwell

“For forty or fifty years past, Mr. H. G. Wells and others have been warning us that man is in danger of destroying himself with his own weapons, leaving the ants or some other gregarious species to take over. Anyone who has seen the ruined cities of Germany will find this notion at least thinkable.”

If you are a country and your military weapon supply is not high quality then you are in trouble. In order to survive/win a war, a country has to, or close to having top-notch weaponry. That can also be dangerous as well. If everyone has high quality weapons then man can easily destroy themselves. That is why it is crucial that some countries do not have weapons such as the atomic bomb. If every country had one then the world would be destroyed. Enemies would wipe out each other. It is crucial that everyone be careful or the world could look like the “ruined cities of Germany.”
